Macon County Schools
College Planning Workshop @ TIMS!
February 07, 2012

Tuskegee Institute Middle School PTA  is hosting a College Planning Workshop on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. A brochure about the College Planning Workshop is attached.  This is part of our celebration of the National PTA’s program, “Take Your Family to School Week”.  We have scheduled a financial advisor, who was referred to us by National PTA, to come from Birmingham and  talk with middle school parents about financial planning and how to pay for college tuition and related costs.  The workshop should may also prove beneficial to high school parents, so we would love to fill the TIMS auditorium with parents of Macon County children.  I learned about these individuals from National PTA when they sent correspondence informing of acceptance and award of our Take Your Family to School Week grant application.  While TIMS administration and the PTA will announce and publicize, your assistance is greatly appreciated and welcome.  Please encourage parents to attend.

Secondly, you are invited to attend all of our Take Your Family to School Week activities, including the aforementioned program on Monday, the 13th; a Men’s Luncheon on Wednesday, the 15th from 11:15a.m. - 12:30p.m. at which TIMS male students will experience a special menu and program prepared with them in mind; and Family Literacy Night and PTA meeting on Thursday, the 16th.  Fathers and other significant men in their lives are invited to attend the Men’s’ Luncheon.  Mr. Lionel Armstead, Executive Director of the Tuskegee/Macon County YMCA is the scheduled speaker.  The Literacy Night will feature a thought provoking Black History skit and math stations for all participants. Refreshments will be provided.
